HONEYST is a four-member South Korean boy band formed by FNC Entertainment and debuted on May 17, 2017 with the single album "Like You".

Prior to their debut the boys were known as the NEOZ band and participated in their label's survival show d.o.b (Dance or Band) against the dance team, which won and debuted as SF9.

History[]

Pre-debut as NEOZ Band in Neo School[]

On May 02, 2016 FNC Entertainment revealed Seo Dong Sung, Oh Seung Seok, Kim Chul Min and Kim Hwan as their newest trainees soon to debut under the group name NEOZ Band.[1][2] The following days, the label released several videos introducing the quartet to the public via their NEO School Youtube Channel.

Starting May 11, NEOZ Band competed against FNC Entertainment other trainees team known as NEOZ Dance in the survival show d.o.b (Dance or Band) broadcasted on Mnet to determine which team will debut first.[3] On the shows final episode, which aried on June 29, 2016, it was revealed that the quartet lost against the other team.

Activities and debut as HONEYST[]

During a club live event on July 27, 2016, the band announced their official group name as HONEYST while greeting their fans that were present.[4] They went ahead and explained the name is a mixture of the words "honey" and "artist" while also representing the quartets honest image.

A week after in August 2016, the quartet started to upload various cover songs and video blogs on their official YouTube channel.
